Mrs. Hudson had done most of the work. She knew John felt guilty, but she also knew he just couldn't bring himself to help, and so, when push came to shove, she hadn't pressed him. After all, she really didn't mind. And that was why, when it finally came time to box up all of Sherlock's things, Mrs. Hudson had been the one to do it. Clothes, books, furniture, stacks and stacks of files and old police reports, the vast array of chemistry equipment, all the chemicals.

It wasn't quite a nightmare.

It couldn't have been; he was still awake when it began. He remembered the feeling of his phone slipping from his hand, and the second of heavy silence before it clattered to the floor. It skittered away somewhere under the couch and he could tell by the sound that the screen had cracked, but he was already thinking of Harry, even before his knees gave out from beneath him. She'd be upset that he'd broken her old phone, the one she'd given him to keep in touch; she'd take offense, as though he'd done it on purpose just to spite her.

The question you need to ask is this: was Sherlock REALLY running that experiment, or was it just a cover for watching John? After all, A SHERLOCK LOVE IS A SECRET LOVE (and a bit of a creepy love, too).

I'll be honest, though--I don't ship Sherlock and John in a sexual way. I believe that they really love each other, but for me theirs is a very deep and complex relationship that simply doesn't involve sex. You'd think they have sex, because they're intimate with each other in a way that makes it seem like they do (which is why I think it's so perfect that all the supporting characters on the show pretty consistently mistake them for a couple). But they're not. They just have this unique, incredibly close platonic relationship that no one else can quite get their heads around. IT'S SUCH PERFECTION OMFG.

So cute! I really love how you described their relationship, that's how I think of it as well. Putting them in a romantic/sexual situation cheapens their relationship for me. Like you said, they just have this bond that is so unique is defies definition.

I agree with your description, that's why Sherlock and Watson's relationship is one of the most famous of all time. Their relationship is so deep and complex, it's impossible to truly explain. I'm sick of people thinking their relationship is sexual, I just don't get it, Sherlock's asexual and John at least claims he's straight (I guess he COULD be bi) so why would they want to have sex? The closest thing I can come to explaining their relationship is that of a bromance and nonsexual/nonromantic soul mates. All the gay jokes in the show are funny but can get annoying, though the way they behave might make people think their gay (even though they hardly ever even touch each other, go figure.) I even like seeing pictures of them holding hands, cuddling or forehead kisses (it's possible for close friends or similar relationships to show this kind of affection.)

I feel the same way about them. I don't picture their relationship the way lots of people do at all; it just seems like they love each other and that is it. No need for anything else. This is great, I love it!
